It all depends just how violent the game is. For example, if you take Star Wars or LEGO Series games, they involve shooting and punching, and you do die, but if they don't see it as a human, it doesn't affect them quite as bad, and seeing as how these are rated Everybody (E) and Teen (T), they shouldn't be affecting them that much. Other games, such as the Grand Theft Auto series, definitely impact kids, since they see mugging, shooting, people dying, and crimes committed. It's also just point of view on videogames. I know some 7 year olds have M rated games, and some 16 years olds don't have them.

It depends on how old the child is. If the age is about 0 (LOL) to 10ish, I'd say yes. If your child is around 12+ , then it's fine.

I think so...it also doesn't help with good spelling.

Yes, "violent " video games have a bad influence on children. You are supposed to learn about the world through experience. At a developing mind, you probably are going to do what you see or think these thoughts because you cannot rationally distinguish what you are seeing.

No. Grand Theft Auto has actually helped adolescents take their first steps in learning how to drive. If any thing than violent video games are good influences.

Its the job of the parents to show their children what is right or wrong so I would have to say no they are not. Or should not to be more accurate. If the parents do their jobs right then their children won't be influenced by them but I'm pretty sure that they shouldn't be playing them in the first place. Stay within your child's game rating and they'll be fine.

Yes and no i enjoy first person shooter games and from my understanding can handle it, there are others though that i know can not handle it and can't seem to "escape the game " if you understand what i mean

Sometimes use this website esrb.org/ index-js.jsp if your kids are too young don't let them play.

No, video games by themselves have no real influence when countered by other infuences on kids for example, if you let a child play a first person shooter then give them a gun they may use it like they had seen in the game. but, if the same child had been influenced that guns are dangerous and killing is wrong them might not even take the gun from you? to simply say that video games cause dangerous or "bad " kids isnt really fair because ever kid on this earth is influenced by thousands of things everyday

Yes! definitly!!! kids get used to seen violence as a normal part of life. and learn to react in violent ways. they constantly see people get killed so to them is now not a big scary scene. it doesnt have an effect in them. violence just comes and goes like is nothing in their eyes. no wonder God says he hates violence (psalm 11:5)

Not really..kids playing computer games from 6-10 yrs old dont know what theyre playing..and 13-16 old enough to know whats right and wrong..

NO way, everytime I see violence, it makes me never want to do violence. Like I saw many violence in war, like dead soldiers, tortures, it was sick. Also, When I don`t want to do violence, so instead I do violence in games, which is fun.
