Question: My flat plasma screen tv broke while playing video games?

I always play my ps3 on it. but the other day i was watching a movie and i paused it then as i walked by, a loud pop came from the tv and it has a red light that means its plugged in but when i press the power button the light turns green, the screen is still black, makes a wierd high pitch, then some smoke comes out from the top of the tv i looked through the breathing holes while i pressed it the next time and a hot looking beam of light came from what looked like a wire while it smoked..Question >)what does this mean will i have to buy a new tv or replace something that most likely costs as much as a new tv

If your TV is still under warranty, you can get it fixed for free. Otherwise, it'll probably cost you almost as much to fix it as it would to buy a new one.

Sounds like the high voltage power supply. Would have to relpace the power board. My guess $300-$400
