Tv that goes good with movies and video games?

Question: Tv that goes good with movies and video games?

(Posted by: ThatP on 2009-06-24 01:15:23)

I want like under 700$ tv. I don't watch TV, but love movies and video games. Suggestions on some? Links? 1080 or 720?

The best TV's for movies, games and even sports are Plasma TV's! They have the highest contrast ratios(2,000,000:1 dynamic; 40,000:1 native), giving them the blackest blacks and most vivid and rich looking colors. They also have the fastest response times(.001ms) as well as the fastest refresh rate(600hz), making them PERFECT for fast motion content like sports, movies & gaming(basically everything)! As for Plasma myths...don't worry about it! Today's new Plasma's by Panasonic and Samsung are some the most energy efficient and highest performing Plasma's to date! See the link below for more info. As for 1080p or 720p, it depends on how close you will be sitting. If you sit close(8ft or less), then 1080p. If farther then 8ft, then 720p. Here are some recommendations for you: Panasonic 42 " 720p: bestbuy.com/ site/ olspage.jsp?skuId= 9244329 &type= product &id= 1218068507560 bestbuy.com/ site/ olspage.jsp?skuId= 9219213 &type= product &id= 1218061795104 Panasonic 42 " 1080p: bestbuy.com/ site/ olspage.jsp?skuId= 9244301 &type= product &id= 1218066284214

For your budget I would recommend Samsung LN32B550 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color 70,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio give you excellent picture 6ms response time is good for gaming and Game Mode enhances dark areas, sharpens the picture, speeds up the image processing response and enhances the sounds of your games amazon.com/ gp/ product/ B001U3Y8PE?ie= UTF8 &tag= computer0bd-20 &linkCode= as2 &camp= 1789 &creative= 390957 &creativeASIN= B001U3Y8PE

Under $700, without a sale, I would look at a 32 " set and maybe a 37 " set. I think with that budget, in order to maximize image quality, that is the size range you are looking at. You could also look towards 42 " with a good sale (unfortunately you just missed some incredible Father's Day prices at Best Buy, but c'est la vie). In 37 " or smaller, don't get too hung up on the "fancy " tech specs. You don't need to get too concerned with things like 1080p, 120Hz refresh rate, or LED LCD. A 720p 60Hz CCFL LCD will serve you just fine. The reason being is that consumer and 'guru' groups have found that you won't see the advantages of those fancy tech specs in sets under 40 ". Its when you break 40 " and moreso 50 " that you should be considering spending the cash on the expensive features. These are from the Best Buy web site, in order of preference (most preferred is the first one listed), Panasonic TC-L37X1 - $800 (I know too expensive, but look around elsewhere for a sale) Panasonic TC-L32X1 - $600 Samsung LN32B460 - normally $650, on sale for $552 LG 37LH20 - $700 Samsung LN32B550 - normally $900, on sale for $700 Sony KDL-32L5000 - normally $550, on sale for $500 Basically, in the budget/ sizes you're looking at Panasonic, Samsung, Sony, and LG are your friends in terms of quality and price.
