For solely entertainment I recommend Mario Bros, Kirby, Wario. To encourage growth and exercise more of their brain (creativity too) I recommend games in the Brain Age series or Elektroplankton.

Well first off the Nintendo DS is a little complex for 4-5 year olds. But I would reccomend Nintendogs
